Zugspitze (2.962 m)
A round trip around the Zugspitze is an absolutely unforgettable experience. The trip starts in Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the Zugspitz train station and heads to the turquoise-coloured Lake Eibsee. From there, provided the weather is good, the Eibsee-cable car will transport you to the summit, offering breathtakingly beautiful views across the Werdenfelser countryside. From here you will have a splendid panoramic view on more than 400 mountain tops. In the restaurants located on the Zugspitze, the panoramic view and feast for the eyes can be excellently combined with outstanding gastronomy.
With the glacier lift, the round trip continues to the Zugspitz glacier, 300m underneath the summit. Here guided tours are offered across the ice field. After an eventful day, the rack-and-pinion railway will bring you back down to the starting point once again.
