Lake Forggensee tour
The popular biking classic
This bicycle tour with a length of approx. 46 km offers you fabulous views of Lake Forggensee, the mountains and the royal castles. Some stretches are a little steep, but most of the route is along comfortable cycling trains and quiet side roads. In the summer, a large number of bathing spots offer opportunities for a refreshing break. The villages around the lake have plenty of places for a stop.
Shortcuts by boat
If you feel like a change from pedalling, why not take a shortcut? Just take your bike onto one of the boats of the Lake Forggensee boating company and relax while enjoying the magnificent landscape from the water. You can get on the boat from any one of eight different piers. Schedules are available from the Weissensee Tourist Information Office.
Route
Follow the cycling route from SEESPITZ along the northern shore of the lake all the way to the centre of Füssen. Follow the signs for the festival theatre at Lake Forggensee. From here, follow the cycling route signs towards Ehrwang. The route continues via Osterreinen to Roßhaupten. In Roßhaupten, turn right towards Buching. Pass Lake Illasbergsee and turn right after the ascent at Kniebis, past Rauhenbichl. Continue via Greith at the idyllic Hergratsried Pond to Brunnen, then to Waltenhofen, to Füssen, and back to Lake Weissensee.
